Today our Nonprofit Organization Cast It Forward had the honor and pleasure to have Army veteran Aaron Futrell along with his lovely wife of 14 years Christina and their two fun children William and Evalina on board with us. Aaron served our country for 20 years, including service over seas and achieved the rank of SSG.
We had an awesome day on the water together, the fish were in a cooperative mood and everyone landed some really nice walleye. While each angler caught nice sized fish, mom Christina earned family bragging rights by hauling in a 27” long 7.5 pound beauty.
Our program today was similar to what we’ve been running lately. We targeted suspended fish between 15’-30’ down over depths between 35-45’ of water. WNC Reapers in Hunke Hammer, Anti-Freeze 80-110’ back unassisted, WNC Shaky Shad and #11 Flicker Minnows run 2oz. 20- 40 & 60 and a variety of Tommy Harris custom painted baits all were consistent producers. Trolling speeds were run at 1.4-1.9 mph, the lake’s surface temp read 54-60 degrees, barometric pressure 31.10, water visibility 3’, and winds were light and variable.
Please join us in thanking Aaron Futrell for his service to our country and in wishing him and his family well in their lives together. It was an honor and a privilege to have you on board with us today.
As a Nonprofit organization, we survive and thrive through the generosity of others.
Today’s veteran fishing trip was made possible by the Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism (NEOPAT) organization. NEOPAT is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting and honoring our heroes.
We offer our heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation to this great organization for making this memorable trip possible for Aaron and his family.

We had an awesome day on the water together and Mr. Gene caught a mixed bag of really nice walleye. Unbelievably, he reeled in not one, but TWO Fish Ohio walleye!!!

4/15/23: Today, our Nonprofit Organization Cast It Forward kicked off its 2023 fishing excursions season with a bang. Joining us for an eventful day on the water was Marine Corps veteran Michael Matta, his son Michael and his lovely sister Theresa.
Having served three years in the Corps, Michael reached out to us through the Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism (NEOPAT), wanting to spend some relaxing and fun time on the water with his family.
To say the fishing was epic would be an understatement. This fun group caught on quickly and put a mess of nice fish in the boat.
The lake's surface temp was 52 degrees, barometric pressure read 31.25InHg, and the wind and waves were calm and flat.
Walleye Nation Creations Reapers in Anti-Freeze and John Deer, along with Tommy Harris custom-painted Lucky Charms and Patriot, were all money today, along with Bandits in Carrot Top and Blue Shiner. We covered a depth range between 38-52’ with leads running unassisted from 60’-120’ back at 1.4-1.6 mph.
Please join me in thanking Michael Matta for his service to our country and also in wishing him and his family well in their future endeavors. It was an honor and pleasure to have you on board today.

4/16/23: Today Cast It Forward had 8-year active duty Marine and 12-year Army veteran Sergeant Michael Buckley on board with us. Joining us on the water with him was his son Tim and work associate and great friend Rick Campbell.
Michael is another veteran brought to us through the Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism (NEOPAT) who likes to fish and spend quality time outdoors with his son. We were happy to make this trip happen for them.
Through a steady pick, we put together a cooler full of nice healthy fish. Michael was convinced it was because of his epic fish dance while Rick supervised and his son Tim captured big fish honors.
The lake's surface temp was 52 degrees, the barometric pressure read 30.02 InHg, and the wind was SSW at 10 and building throughout. Water visibility was approximately 6’.
