Recently our Nonprofit organization Cast It Forward welcomed three generations of Michigan anglers for a meaningful day of family, fun and fishing.
Joining us were Patriarch, Father, Grandfather, and Marine Corps Veteran Al, his Son Andy, a First Responder, and grandchildren Emma & Noah.
The walleye are all but done spawning and are now spending their time recovering and are constantly on the move. Fishing is good but the pockets of fish can be small and spread out.
The lake’s surface temperature read 56-60 degrees, winds were ESE@ 10, water clarity <2’, trolling speeds 1.6 - 1.9 mph and barometric pressure read 29.83 inHg.
Our best patterns were Walleye Nation Creations Reapers in Real Teal, Anti Freeze and Magic, along with Bandits in Black Wonderbread and Dipsey / Stinger Spoon combo run 50-75’ back at a “0” setting. Most productive crank bait leads were run unassisted between 60’-140’ back.
It’s always a great time when families get to spend time together on the water and today was no exception.
We are grateful to be able to provide Al, Andy, Emma and Noah this opportunity and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
