Five Stars for Cast It Forward!

There are some experiences that stay with you long after the day ends — and our time with Cast It Forward was one of them. This incredible nonprofit, led by the compassionate and dedicated Captain Art, goes beyond offering fishing trips. They create moments of connection, healing, and gratitude for veterans, children, and individuals with special needs. 

Recently, I had the privilege of joining my father, a disabled veteran, on one of their special excursions. It wasn’t just about fishing, it was about honoring time, service, and family. In a world where schedules are packed and duty often comes first, Cast It Forward reminded us of what really matters - being present with those who matter most. 

Captain Art's leadership and generosity made the entire day unforgettable. His passion for giving back, his deep respect for veterans, and his ability to make every guest feel seen and valued speaks volumes. He doesn’t just run a nonprofit — he builds bridges between generations, between nature and healing, and between people who need a reminder that they are not alone.

I recently had the incredible opportunity to go on a Lake Erie walleye excursion through the Cast It Forward organization, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Captain Art was top-notch, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about getting us on fish and making sure we had a great time. 

From start to finish, everything was well organized. The boat was clean and well-equipped, the gear was excellent, and Captain Art made sure everyone felt comfortable and confident out on the water. Thanks to his guidance, we had a three-man walleye limit by 10 AM! 

What really stood out was the heart behind it all. Cast It Forward isn’t just about fishing—it’s about giving people meaningful experiences, and this organization absolutely delivered. 

Huge thanks to the Cast It Forward team and especially to Captain Art for making this trip so memorable. I’m incredibly grateful and would recommend Cast It Forward to anyone who gets the chance to be involved. 

 Thank you to “Cast It Forward.” and especially the founder Captain Art who took such great care of the four of us.! I can’t express all the joy I am still experiencing at seeing the photos! The walleye is delicious, and the memories of fishing with my daughter and two granddaughters is precious. 

Cast It Forward is a great non- profit organization that takes out seniors, vets, Make A Wish, cancer patients, and others.

Thank you to Captain Art for a great day of fishing and fellowship. I didn't know what to expect when I signed up to participate, and WOW it was more than I could have imagined. Captain Art is very safe and experienced, and he made the day very enjoyable - not to mention we caught fish! 

In May, as First Responders, a friend and I had the opportunity to fish with Captain Art and "Cast It Forward". 

We talked the night before and the plan was to meet at the ramp at 0545 AM. As we arrived, Art already had the boat in the water and was ready for us to fish. I've been to Lake Erie many times over the years, and I have never seen a boat more organized. We had a safety briefing, and he explained to us how were going to fish for the day. Shortly after we set lines, we immediately pulled some nice keeper walleye. 

As we were fishing, we talked about some of the military veterans, first responders and others that have enjoyed the Cast It Forward program. I think it is wonderful that the Cast It Forward program can take people out fishing that normally would not be able to get out on their own. 

I would definitely recommend "Cast it Forward" to others. 

 Captain Art, thank you so much for taking my son and me out fishing. We had such a great day! David loves his new pole and is very thankful for his lures. He cannot wait to get out on Lake Erie again. He cooked walleye for Father's Day for the whole family. I was very at ease during our trip and enjoyed myself for the first time in a long time. Thank you for everything you do!
